Musical Talents Crescendo at Workshop at La Mart Girls

Lucknow: La Martiniere Girls’ College hosted a transformative two-day workshop in collaboration with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and the India National Youth Orchestra & Chorus on July 9th and 10th, 2024. Led by the illustrious Sandra Oberoi, an international singer and founder of Harmony, the Music School in Bangalore, the event galvanized 170 singers from La Martiniere and City Montessori School.
Day one resonated with fervent enthusiasm as participants delved into vocal warm-ups and explored the biological nuances of singing under Oberoi’s expert guidance. The Farida Abraham Memorial Auditorium echoed with harmonious renditions of “Dil Dhadakne Do” and Eric Whitacre’s classics, setting a high standard for the workshop.
Notably, Aprit Amrit’s stellar performance earned him accolades, further enriching the vibrant atmosphere.
Day two continued this momentum with rigorous practice sessions, rhythmic singing, and synchronized dancing, culminating in preparations for an Indo-Western concert. The presence of Sonia Khan, ABRSM’s India head, and  Ashrita Dass, the principal, underscored the event’s significance.
This workshop not only honed the vocal prowess of participants but also fostered a profound sense of community and cultural pride. By elevating musical education, it aspired to establish Lucknow as a burgeoning hub of global art and culture.
